Key Programmes and Opportunities of the Anna Lindh Foundation
The Anna Lindh Foundation implements funding, mobility, training and cooperation programmes aimed at civil society organisations, professionals, young people and other stakeholders across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
ALF in Motion
ALF in Motion is a mobility programme that supports in-person cooperation between civil society organisations from different parts of the Mediterranean. Through the programme, organisations can host representatives of other organisations, artists or experts with the aim of developing joint proposals, participating in activities and workshops, co-creating cultural initiatives and generating new knowledge.
ALF Hands-On
ALF Hands-On is an online capacity-building programme designed by and for civil society organisations. It offers practical, peer-to-peer training for professionals working in the field of intercultural dialogue, while also creating space for the exchange of experiences, cooperation and the development of new tools and approaches.
ALF Knowledge for Action (K4A)
Knowledge for Action (K4A) supports the production and use of evidence-based knowledge on issues related to intercultural dialogue and Euro-Mediterranean cooperation. Through research activities and policy recommendations, it seeks to strengthen the connection between research, civil society and policymaking on issues of common interest across the region. K4A is a core programme of the Foundation and continues within the 2025–2028 period.
Day of the Mediterranean
The Day of the Mediterranean, celebrated on 28 November, is an annual initiative dedicated to the shared identity, cultural heritage and cooperation of the peoples of the Mediterranean. Within this initiative, the Anna Lindh Foundation supports selected civil society organisations in implementing simultaneous music and community-based activities across countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Mediterranean Youth in Action (MYA)
Mediterranean Youth in Action (MYA) is a broad youth empowerment programme across the Euro-Mediterranean region, aiming to strengthen young people’s active participation in society and decision-making. It includes different strands for young researchers, young leaders and digital content creators, linking knowledge production, social action and communication.
Mediterranean Capitals of Culture and Dialogue
The Mediterranean Capitals of Culture and Dialogue are a joint initiative of the Anna Lindh Foundation and the Union for the Mediterranean. Each year, two cities — one from the Northern Mediterranean and one from the Southern Mediterranean — are selected to host a year-long programme of cultural activities, partnerships and dialogue initiatives, highlighting cultural diversity and a shared Mediterranean identity.
For 2026, the selected cities are Matera (Italy) and Tétouan (Morocco), while Córdoba (Spain) and Saida (Lebanon) have been announced for 2027.
