From 8 to 10 November 2019, the National Meeting of the Greek Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation took place in Thessaloniki, bringing together more than 50 member organisations from across Greece.
The meeting marked an important new beginning for the Network, with a strong focus on improving communication, active participation and cooperation among members. The programme included a review of the activities of the Foundation and the Greek Network during the 2015–2019 period, as well as the presentation of the Network’s plans for the following three years.
Key topics included the role of Focal Points as regional coordinators, the potential use of sociocracy as a model for organisation and decision-making, and the development of a new communication strategy through newsletters, the Network’s website and social media channels.
Particular emphasis was also placed on funding opportunities, networking and the development of new partnerships. Through dedicated workshops, members were invited to share their needs, expectations and proposals for the future operation of the Network. Among the priorities highlighted was the need to strengthen links with networks in the Southern Mediterranean and to develop closer Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
The meeting concluded with thematic presentations on environmental sustainability and civil society in Turkey. On the following day, Youthnest delivered a capacity-building workshop focusing on team and organisational management.
