From 16 to 19 November 2023, members of the Greek Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation gathered in Serres for the Network’s Annual National Meeting, held within the framework of NES – Cycle 2.
The meeting was hosted in Serres for the first time, with the valuable support of PRAXIS and Ms Alevra. The choice of the city had a special symbolic significance, as the meeting was held in memory of Kaiti Emmanouilidou, President of UNESCO Serres and a member of the Greek Network since 2014, who had made a significant contribution to civil society.
During the meeting, members had the opportunity to present the work of their organisations, discuss internal and administrative matters, and receive updates on current activities and the next steps of the programme. Particular attention was given to environmental challenges, funding opportunities offered by the Anna Lindh Foundation, and the exchange of experiences from previously funded projects.
A significant part of the meeting was also dedicated to the presentation and discussion of the Dynamic Governance Model, with members agreeing to pilot new organisational and decision-making procedures for a one-year period.
The programme also included workshops on the future cultural event in memory of Kaiti Emmanouilidou, the Greek Network’s activities for 2024, and the organisation of the next National Meeting. In parallel, working groups were established around the thematic priorities of Track 1 of NES Cycle 2, giving members the opportunity to actively contribute to the research and proposal-development process.
The Serres meeting provided an important opportunity for meaningful dialogue, stronger cooperation and the joint shaping of the Greek Network’s next steps.
