From 13 to 17 November 2024, the Greek Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation held its National Meeting in Komotini for the first time, on the occasion of the city’s designation as the first National Youth Capital 2024.
A total of 35 Network members took part in a multi-day programme combining discussions, presentations and collaborative planning. Representatives of the Municipality of Komotini also participated in the opening session, presenting the city’s role in youth initiatives as well as the priorities and activities of the “Exagono” Youth and Volunteer Centre.
During the meeting, members identified several key priorities, including stronger networking, more meaningful cooperation across National Networks, greater space for developing new ideas and collaborative projects, and improved visibility and dissemination of members’ activities and results.
The programme included updates on current funding opportunities offered by the Foundation, presentations of both successful and less successful funded projects, and the presentation of the three studies developed under NES-2 Track 1.2.
Participants also agreed to implement a joint initiative for Mediterranean Day using the hashtag #MediterraneanDayGR, while several organisational priorities for the Network were discussed, including the launch of an open call for hosting the next National Meeting, a comprehensive website update, and upcoming adjustments to the geographical structure of the Focal Points.
The meeting concluded with an update on the upcoming ALF Forum in Albania in June 2025 and a strong emphasis on continued member participation and cooperation.
